Interrupts, CC & Staying Alive

Damage means nothing if you are dead or the boss lands its dangerous spell. Utility and survival are half of high-level play.

Interrupts and crowd control

  • Bind your interrupt and use it on the casts that matter - many dungeon deaths are un-kicked casts.
  • Coordinate kicks so you do not all interrupt the same cast and leave the next one free.
  • Learn your crowd control (stun, incapacitate, root) for handling extra mobs.

Defensive cooldowns

  • Every spec has personal defensives - bind them and use them proactively on known damage.
  • Pre-press a defensive before a big hit lands, not after you are already low.
  • Rotate defensives across multiple hits instead of blowing them all at once.

Awareness and movement

  • Stand in the good stuff and out of the bad - most avoidable damage is a positioning mistake.
  • Use personal healing, healthstones, and potions to take pressure off your healers.
  • Keep a movement ability available for emergencies, not just for uptime.

Key takeaways

  • Bind and actually use your interrupt - un-kicked casts kill groups.
  • Pre-press defensives before big hits and rotate them.
  • Most damage taken is avoidable - fix your positioning first.
